The Link Between Green Transition and Collective Bargaining Discussed in the Decent Work Series
In the 14th session of the “Decent Work Series” organized by Ibn Haldun University’s Center for International Law and Human Rights (UHAM), the relationship between a just transition and collective bargaining within the green transformation process was discussed in the context of sustainable development goals.

The 14th session of the “Decent Work Series” organized by the Center for International Law and Human Rights (UHAM) at Ibn Haldun University was held online on Monday, June 23, 2025.

Titled “Green Transition, Just Transition and Decent Work: A New Paradigm for Collective Bargaining,” the session explored the emerging understanding of collective bargaining at the intersection of environmental concerns, the economy, and working life. The session was moderated by Dr. Gülnıhal Ahter Yakacak, faculty member at Ibn Haldun University’s Faculty of Law and Director of UHAM. Dr. Didem Yardımcıoğlu, faculty member at Dicle University’s Faculty of Law, Department of Labor and Social Security Law, participated as the guest speaker.

During the event, it was emphasized that the green transition is not only an environmental matter but also a social one. Discussions highlighted the importance of developing just transition policies and the role of trade union organization to help labor markets adapt to changing conditions.
