Law Student Symposium Successfully Held!
The "Law Student Symposium" on Comparative Law and Human Rights, organized by Ibn Haldun University, International Law and Human Rights Application and Research Center, was successfully completed on 17 May 2024. In the day-long symposium, various aspects of Human Rights were discussed in detail. Here are the sessions and speakers of the symposium:

Opening Speeches 

Director of the International Law and Human Rights Application and Research Center Dr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülnihal Ahter Yakacak emphasized the importance of Human Rights and invited Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan to the stage for his opening speech. Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Rector of Ibn Haldun University made his opening speech and emphasized the importance of the symposium. 

Session I

The 1st session of the program was held with Dr. Lect. Prof. Dr. Afra Uysal chaired the program. In the 1st session, Master's Student Sultan Demirtaç discussed in detail the "A Look at the Right of Inaccessibility Despite the Impossibility of the Digital Age", while Undergraduate students Zehra Kaya, Betül Zehra Yağlı and Meryem Bilmez discussed "The Problem of the Court in Charge in Legal Disputes Arising from Artificial Intelligence". Yalova University student Melek Arslangiray also discussed "Cyber Grooming". Graduate student Ezgi Sima Çelik evaluated "The Problem of Privacy and Safety of Child YouTubers within the Scope of Family and Child Themed YouTube Channels". The last speaker of the session, undergraduate student Abdullah Balım, examined the Processing of Personal Data and Fulfillment of the Obligation to Inform in the Light of KVKK Decisions.

Session II

The 2nd session of the program was held by Dr. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Oğuz Tuna chaired the program. In this session, law students examined in the context of Human Rights. The first speaker of the session, undergraduate student Ebubekir Marabaoğlu, examined the South Africa V. Israel case within the scope of the binding effect of the decisions of the International Court of Justice on States. Meryem Gül Özcan, a law undergraduate student, examined the case of N.Ç. in the Context of Victimization of Human Rights Violations in the Judicial Process: N.Ç. case. Sana Bibi, a law graduate student, emphasized the importance of Legal Status of Afghan Refugees in Pakistan in the context of law.

Session III

In the 3rd session of the program, Dr. Lect. Prof. Dr. Erdem İzzet Külçür chaired the program and human rights were discussed in the context of criminal law. Ibn Haldun University Graduate and Undergraduate students discussed "Extradition Institution in International Criminal Law: The case of Eylem Tok", "Legal, Psychological and Sociological Evaluation of International Studies to Combat War Crimes to which Children are Exposed", "Legal Measures to be Taken in the National and International Context in the Light of Cyber Terrorism Examples", "A Threat to Human Rights: Genocide" and "Genocide against Uyghurs in the context of re-education camps in the People's Republic of China".

Session IV

Session 4 of the program continued online under the chairmanship of Dr. Meryem Solmaz Bilici. Ezgi Sima Çelik presented the paper titled The Problem of Privacy and Safety of Child Youtubers within the Scope of Family and Child Themed YouTube Channels, Hilal Şahin Duru presented the paper titled "The Role of International Trade Law in Regulating E.Trade" and Ömer Güven presented the paper titled "Reasons for Termination of Associations".
