Call For Papers

The International Law and Human Rights Research and Application Center of Ibn Haldun University will organize a student symposium with the theme of "Comparative Law and Human Rights".

Papers and presentations can be in Turkish or English.

Application Requirements and Abstracts

  1. The symposium will be organized as a hybrid (online and face-to-face).
  2. Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students who have not passed the thesis stage can apply to the symposium. (Apart from the students of the Faculty of Law, the papers of students studying in other faculties will also be evaluated in accordance with the symposium theme).
  3. Abstracts for application should be between 500-1000 words, with a maximum of 5 keywords (in Turkish and English) and a bibliography. The abstract and short CV should be sent touham@ihu.edu.truntil May 3, 2024.
  4. Abstracts will be subjected to scientific preliminary review by blind refereeing method and accepted papers will be presented at the symposium. Authors whose papers are accepted will be notified by e-mail until May 10, 2024.
  5. Papers and presentations can be in Turkish or English. Online participation is possible. Presentations will be recorded by video recording method and can be published in the media approved by the Organizing Committee if deemed necessary. The submitted papers must not have been presented or published anywhere before and must be original works of the participants.
  6. The presentation time of each paper should be maximum 15 minutes. In papers written by more than one person, the number and identity of the person or persons who will make the presentation should be specified.

Publication

All abstracts presented at the symposium will be published as an e-book with ISBN number by International Publishing House. It is assumed that the authors who submit their abstracts consent to this publication if their abstracts are accepted.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  1. General
    The title, abstract and keywords should be included in the abstract in both English and Turkish.
  2. Abstract of the Paper
    Abstracts should include both Turkish and English abstract sections of 300-1000 words. Those presenting in English should first write an abstract in English and then in Turkish.
  3. Keywords
    A maximum of 5 keywords should be written under both Turkish and English abstract sections.
  4. Language
    The publication language of the proceedings book is Turkish and English. Full text papers of authors submitting papers in English will be published in English.
  5. Writing Rules
    • Times New Roman style,
    • Main text font size 12,
    • Footnote font size 10,
    • 1.5 line spacing,
    • Periods should not be used in abbreviations,
    • Table of Contents and Abbreviations sections should not be included.
  6. Citation Method
    Chicago Manual Styles (16th or 17th editions) will be used for citation method and bibliography.
