The Introduction of the "Human Rights Violations in Palestine and Gaza Genocide" Report by the Turkey Human Rights and Equality Institution (TİHEK) Was Held at Ibn Haldun University
The "Human Rights Violations in Palestine and Gaza Genocide" report, prepared by the Turkey Human Rights and Equality Institution (TİHEK) to address the history and current dimensions of the crimes against humanity and genocide committed in Gaza, was introduced at Ibn Haldun University.
The report, prepared with contributions from expert academics, examines Israel's violations against the Palestinian people from historical, ideological, and legal perspectives. The report is divided into four main sections, covering Israel’s occupation and aggression in Palestine, the historical and religious foundations of Zionism, Israel's violations of international law regarding the occupation of Palestinian territories, the refusal to allow the return of Palestinian refugees, the illegal settlement policy, the apartheid regime imposed on Palestinians, and the destruction of Palestinian agricultural lands and water resources, which deprives them of their right to life. Additionally, Israel’s attacks on Gaza are assessed from the perspective of international humanitarian law. In the conclusion, the report emphasizes the importance of raising awareness and creating new discourses.
The introduction program of the report was hosted by the Faculty of Law of Ibn Haldun University, in collaboration with the International Law and Human Rights Center (UHAM), the Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center (UÇAM), and the Civil Society Studies Application and Research Center (CIVIL). TİHEK President Prof. Dr. Muharrem Kılıç also participated in the event, which took place on December 19, 2024.
