"Digitalization and Law"

Call for Papers

The Faculty of Law at Ibn Haldun University, in collaboration with the International Law and Human Rights Center and the Dispute Resolution Application and Research Center at Ibn Haldun University, is organizing a student symposium on the theme of "Digitalization and Law."

Important Dates

• Deadline for Submission: March 14, 2025
• Notification of Acceptance & Program Announcement: April 7, 2025
• Symposium Dates: April 17–18, 2025

Symposium Language

Papers and presentations can be in either Turkish or English.

Application Requirements and Abstract Submissions

• The symposium will be held in person at the Başakşehir Campus of Ibn Haldun University.
• Undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students (who have not yet entered the thesis stage) are eligible to apply. Papers from students of faculties other than law will also be considered, provided they align with the symposium theme.
• Abstracts should be 500-1000 words, include up to 5 keywords (both in Turkish and English), and include references.
• Abstracts and a brief CV should be sent to uham@ihu.edu.tr by March 14, 2025.
• Submitted abstracts will undergo a blind peer review process, and accepted papers will be presented at the symposium. Authors of accepted papers will be notified via email by April 7, 2025.
• Papers and presentations can be in Turkish or English.
• Presentations will be recorded via video, and if deemed appropriate, may be published in platforms approved by the Organizing Committee.
• Submitted papers must be original, unpublished, and not presented elsewhere before.
• Each presentation should be a maximum of 15 minutes. If a paper is co-authored, the presenting author(s) must be specified.
• There are no topic restrictions for submissions, as long as they relate to the theme of digitalization and law. Papers addressing aspects of public law and private lawwithin this theme are welcome.

Publication

All presented paper abstracts will be published as an ISBN-registered e-book by Ibn Haldun Publishing, which holds the status of an international publisher. Authors submitting abstracts are considered to have given their consent for publication upon acceptance.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

General

The title, abstract, and keywords must be provided in both Turkish and English in the abstract submission.

Abstract Requirements

• Abstracts should be 500-1000 words and include both Turkish and English summary sections.
• Those presenting in English should provide the English abstract first, followed by the Turkish abstract.

Keywords

A maximum of 5 keywords should be listed under both the Turkish and English abstracts.

Language

• The publication language of the proceedings book is Turkish and English.
• Authors submitting papers in English will have their full-text papers published in English.

Formatting Rules

• Font: Times New Roman
• Main text size: 12 pt
• Footnote size: 10 pt
• Line spacing: 1.5
• No punctuation marks in abbreviations
• No tables of contents or abbreviations sections

Citation Style

The citation and reference system to be used is the Chicago Manual of Style (16th or 17th edition).
